Hi sweeties,
I wasn’t too sure if I should write this blogpost in Dutch since I will talk about a Belgian brand but I decided to just go ahead and write it in English.
The brand that I am talking about today is Imperial, known in Belgium for their baking powder, pudding powder, toppings etc. For as long as I can remember, my mom used to make her DELICIOUS pudding for me and my sister. In the evenings or as a study break, she would always put a smile on our faces while serving us the pudding. Unlike anyone else in the family, I always, yes always, ate and still eat my Imperial pudding while it’s still warm and fluid. I mean, there’s nothing better in this world.
I really wish I had a picture of me and my mom when we used to make the pudding together since we did it quite often. That’s what this brand is all about, nostalgia. Imperial is a true family brand that should be passed on from generation to generation, just like it did in our family. Since I am living on my own now it’s time for me to include Lily in this tradition as well (as you can see on the picture).
One thing that always made me laugh is that when my mom just finished pouring all the pudding into bowls, my dad was already there with a spoon to clean out (our should I say eat out/lick out) the rest of the cooking pot. And yes, Lily was totally on board with that as well!
What I love so much about this pudding is not just the great flavor, but also the fact that it’s super easy to make. It’s really something you can do on a Sunday afternoon with your kids. Maybe Lily is still a bit too young to help me cook since she’s more into playing with all the cooking supplies, but great traditions can never be passed on too early!
